How do you approach a medical malpractice case in South Carolina? Please don't say, "talk to an attorney". ty?

I awoke in the middle of implant surgery (spinal chord stimulator, cervical), resulting in a pin on the halo, cutting my scalp, bad enough to require six staples to close. The surgical report said the laceration "was less than a half inch long" pictures show otherwise. I am being treated (if you can call it that) by the same referring physician. A pain center doctor who has not examined the surgical site once since the surgery. I have asked the workers comp adjuster to send me to another dr. but they refuse. I have settled my work comp claim, and they are to provide me with lifetime medical. I am also disabled with an 80 percent impairment to my cervical spine. (pre implant surgery) This is alot for me to handle. Is there anyone who might have some advice as to how going about the way of getting the appropiate treatment(s) for my condition? guess i am looking for an attorney, firm, or advocates. Thank you, and GOD bless.

You are aware of the crime called "unauthorized practice of law," right? That is the problem with an "advocate" who isn't an attorney.
