“So Zayn, if you were a girl, which member would you date?” The interviewer asked with a sly smile plastered on her pale features.
Niall heard Louis sigh next to him and whisper to Harry that, that was such an original question. A smile tugged on the blonde’s lips at the amount of sarcasm dripping from the older boy’s voice. He fixed his blue eyes on Zayn, waiting curiously for his reply.
Zayn smiled back at the petite dark haired woman, a confident smile that clearly told her that he wasn’t going to become uneasy with her question. How could he really, this question was asked by almost every other interviewer they met.
“Who I would date?” Zayn said and mocked a thoughtful expression. Suddenly his deep brown eyes settled on Niall and the blonde looked back, surprised.
“I would definitely date Nialler,” Zayn said and gave Niall a playful smile that went unnoticed by the interviewer. The petite woman, whom her name Niall had forgotten, looked almost shocked. Just the same way as Niall himself was feeling right now and he felt.. weird.
He tore his baby blue eyes away from Zayn piercing look and pinned to the ground. It was odd. He didn’t know what was wrong with him because there definitely was something wrong. His heart was pounding in his chest and his hands felt so clammy.
What is wrong with me? He thought almost panicky. He didn’t know what suddenly came of him but right now he wanted the interview to end more than ever. It was like something had set off inside him the moment Zayn had looked at while choosing him of all the others to date.
All the other times Zayn had been asked this question he would reply Louis or Liam but this time he chose Niall and the small blonde couldn’t help but feel a bubbling feeling well up inside of him. He was beyond confused. Why was he feeling like a little kid on Christmas morning just because his fellow band member had said that he would date him and although he knew that Zayn obviously didn’t mean it?
“..ail..Nial.. NIALL!”
Said blonde was snapped out of his thoughts by Liam sitting next to him. He looked up at the brunette and into his brown eyes and couldn’t help but notice how different they were from Zayn’s.
“Huh?” He said quite dumbly and Liam sent him a concerned look. “Ella was asking you a question,” he said. Niall looked confused for a moment, Ella? Who was that? Before he could make a fool of himself and actually ask Liam who Ella was it hit him that it was their interviewer.
“Are you alright Niall?” The interviwer, named Ellla, asked him. He sent her one of his trademark smiles, pushing the confusing thoughts to the back of his mind.
“I am fine Ella. I am sorry, could you repeat the question?” Niall asked desperately trying to focus his attention on the woman in front of him but all the while he couldn’t help but let his gaze slip to the darker skinned boy at the other end of the couch.
