How good is my sketch?

Postby marmion » Fri Jul 27, 2012 11:02 pm

Is this sketch well-drawn for a 12 year old? Even if it's not, can i somehow improve it? this is the first time i ever seriously tried to draw someone... can you give me advice? i don't want to take classes... I'm really independent and i would like to not tell anyone I'm trying to start sketching...

So to all artists out there... How can i improve.. can you give me tips? Thanks! <3

I definitively think that you have some talent and potential. My suggestion is for darker darks so it will add more depth in your drawing. It will make it look more 3D. Just really look at the person next time. Don't just draw what you think is there. Pay attention to the shadows on the persons face, (under the chin, near nose, under eyes? one half might be darker then the other half slightly, it really depends on where the light source is) and how the colors compare. Very good though. My sister is a year older then you and she isnt that good. Keep up the good work :)

It's good, but as is said above, it needs more attention to shading and detail. Try using real life photos or scenes as a reference.
