How Many Laws Are There In U.s.?

Postby Funsan » Sun Oct 12, 2014 6:43 pm

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. I specifically wanted to back up what Yul Brynner said at a ceremony of displaying the Ten Commandments. He said, "Man has made 32,600,000 laws. God made only ten, and yet there is no law among all these millions man has made that isn't covered with the Divine ones you can count on the fingers of your hands." ------------------------- Followup To - Mr. Troy,

I was wondering how many laws there are in the United States. A rough estimate would do fine if necessary.

Thank you,

Matt

I certainly find that number believable, and if it is accurate, you could probably triple the number for the intervening 40 years or so.

Of course, the 10 Commandments didn't have to worry about mundane things like speed limits, parks, libraries, schools, littering, etc.
