How many parents should a child legally be able to have?

"My Three Daddies: California Eyes Multiple Parenting Law

California, the battleground state for the arguments for and against same-sex marriage, is now considering an unconventional law that would allow children to be legally granted more than two parents.

The bill -- SB1476 -- would apply equally to men and women, and to homosexual or heterosexual relationships. Proposed by State Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, it has passed the Senate and awaits an Assembly vote.

Leno cites the evolving American family, which includes surrogacy arrangements, same-sex marriages and reproductive techniques that involve multiple individuals."

Couldn't care less how many people can legally be parents of a child as long as they're being raised in a healthy environment. Of course, there would need to be some legal kinks to work out.

Live and let live.

As the concept of marriage is allowed to shift, this * is * the logical conclusion.

If any homosexual couple is not in favor of this, they are the biggest hypocrites on the planet.

Correction!

Mark Leno is Pro State Sen. which is our version of Majority leader of the senate. He is gay himself.

However I do like something he fights for including less of Jerry Brows proposed cuts to the poor.
I don't believe in this, I think it should go to a referendum, Jerry Brown is expected to veto it

As many as their are available. No such thing as too much love or too much security for a kid.

As long as these children have parents who commit, I really don't care.

I'm more concerned about children having too few parents than too many. Zero is too few.

I think you should read the article you cited.

["We are not touching the definition of a parent under the current law," said Leno. "When a judge recognizes that a child is likely to find his or her way into foster care and if there is an existing parent who qualifies as a legal parent, why not have the law when it is required to protect the well-being of the child?" ]
