How much do you think is a fair price to charge a family member for a mobile version of a website?

Postby egann » Sat Jul 07, 2012 7:31 am

My better half has a Bsc in Software Development and is starting an Msc in Information Security soon. She developed a normal flash site about a year ago for a family member (her sister-in-law, my sister) for her new offline business which is doing very well and they now want a mobile version (never charged for the original site) Found a mobile site builder, the mobile version has been created and is ready to go, about 5 or 6 pages, how does €50 (bout $61) sound? We think it's very fair, maybe even too "fair"! We also host her original site for free on our own hosting package and have been doing revisions and additions etc for free - although think we'll have to start charging her but not full commercial rates of course. What do you think? Thanks.

It is very fair, actually as you put it a little to "fair".

lol. let this one too pass for free.
Do the charging rather for hosting and update.
Let this be her last freebie, before she turns into her employee

Well , unless you are incurring an extra cost by helping her out then pass just that cost on. Families should help each other out.I would not be that savvy with such stuff but if it is of no cost to you then you know....
You don't want to be making money off your sisters.
