How to report threatening emails?

My sister in law is clearly threatening my life via messages on facebook. She has a long history of violence and she has assaulted many many people. She is very unstable, very bipolar, and on drugs. She is VERY capable of severely hurting me.

Can I print the messages and report her to the police? Is there anything they will do?

I don't want to go to the police station and have them tell me they can't do anything... it would just be a waste of time.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TELL THE POLICE RIGHT AWAY AND TELL THEM ABOUT HER HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!! this is not good and the police will help you. this is a form if verbal assault and if it could become physical assault, they will help. u need to tell them or tell atleast another person in the family
