since ur father in law knows about it .its good for u .but does he supports u in public? u try to do ur duty sincerely in all aspect ,respect elders ,take care of all family members .when and where the opinion of 2 of u in some particular thing are apposite with due respect make her understand what u think and y ?(by 1)keeping family on 1st priority 2)due justice to others) do it openly talk about what /why r u doing and let her understand that u wont allow any thing bad for family 3) assert when she insults that u dont feel bad just because u dont act jellously with any one even with her.4)If some body wants to torture u and u remain contained and happy ( as ur doing ur duties , u love all ,nothing wrong step u r taking u will remain happy ) the person who wants to torture u get himself torture by this way . so it goes back to her what she does .

You are not alone, every joint family has some or the other problems.You don't have to worry when everyone knows how she is. The best way is to ignore her as many times as possible.Ask your MIL to divide your work in the kitchen like ask her to cook lunch and u can cook dinner or other way round.
Don't let her torture you in any way.

ignore her as other members of your family are nice. Also try to handle situation very carefully and tricky definitely one day her attitude will change.
