I Have An Idea For A Product Improvement Related To Digital Cameras. How Do I Patent It?

Postby Jarvis » Wed Jun 18, 2014 1:57 am

I have an idea, which can be a product improvement in digital cameras. I haven't seen this feature in any of the digital cameras in the market today. This idea is actually an improvement to the embedded software within the digital camera, but will result in a very useful feature that most digital camera users will like. I don't have the know-how to build the software myself since I am not a technical person. Also, since this is only an added feature, this has to be plugged into the existing software that most digital cameras use today. So, my questions are - a) How do I make sure that I can patent my idea so that I can commercially take advantage of this?b) How can I maximise revenues by actually "selling" the idea?c) Who should I be selling this idea to, in the case of the digital camera market? Should it to be camera manufacturers like Kodak, Canon, Nikon etc or should it to be the software developer who sells the software to the hardware manufacturer?
