I want to rent our house. what sould i do to protect myself from lawsuit?

Do I need to set up an LLC to protect our personal assets? Does property insurance covers injuries? Can a property management company truly protect my interest?
My sister had a tenant evicted from her house and she had to pay for removal of his stuff. Can I protect myself from these kinds of things besides not giving back their deposit?

You don't need an LLC but you need to ask your insurance company about what covers what. Policies vary.

You need insurance that covers the property specifically for rentals. Talk to your agent.

No way to protect against incidental costs other than security deposit and then suing the former tenant.

I own a home and I recommend using a property management company. Look up reviews about the company and see what other homeowners think of that company. They know the laws inside and out and make it so much easier. I tried to manage myself before and it was a nightmare.
