I want to write on the internet how a person ruined my life- I want to expose him. Is this defamation?

Can a person press 'harassment charges' against me, or sue me for 'defamation' if I write a searchable blog post on the internet about all the horrible stuff he did? I have evidence to back it up -- emails from him, if he wants to take that route. He is a lawyer and I'm afraid he'll find some legal loophole to get me in trouble. In short, he is a lawyer I dated for many years, he got me pregnant, abandoned me when I told him, and I ended up having an abortion. He then quickly starts dating other women. He is a very manipulative, most deceptive, most biggest liar I have ever met. He has cheated on his girlfriends in the past and done many horrible things to women. It makes me SICK TO MY STOMACH how his family, friends, and other people buy into his charm and act. None of his family or friends know about this stuff because his "image" is everything. Well I so badly want to tarnish is perfect little image. He is the fakest person I know, and I so badly want to expose him and let the truth about him be known. He might run for political office in the future because his father is a circuit court judge, who might replace is father. With his lack of morals and ethics, he should be anything but a public figure. I don't know how it would be considered 'defamation' if he tries to accuse me of that because the stuff I'm going to write about him are FACTS, which are all verifiable by his emails he's sent me (that I've saved) from the past.

I so badly want to expose him.

Go talk to a reputable journalist about publishing your facts. As long as everything you print is the complete truth, verifiable fact, as you state, then you should be in the clear. In any case, the journalist can help you to assemble the information about this quasi-public figure so that you can tell your story without fear. Will the man be mad? Of course. Will he try to stop you? Of course. That is why you must take necessary precautions to protect yourself, not only legally, but even physically. I'm serious. If this guy is as bad as you say, and has the aspirations you state, then he will not hesitate to keep you quiet, even if it is by force.
Be careful but go ahead and expose him if you can do so safely.
One more thought. Get in touch with the State Bar Ethics Committee and file a complain about his activities involving moral turpitude. This alone can get him disbarred.

First, anything you write that is true is NOT defamation...

Second, lawyers are held to a higher moral standard...depending on what you have, you may be able to go to the bar association and get him in big trouble there.....

Finally, If you weren't married to the guy, you shouldn't be getting pregnant with him...and you shouldn't expect him to be faithful to you...

Surely if you can prove it , anything can be written. Obviously you're going to speak to a lawyer first ,anyway .
