If a custody case of a child is taking place in a court room, could a family member go in the court room too?

Okay, so my mother is in rehab, she's been in there for 7-8 months. And she has a daughter(my sister) in foster care. But she sees her regularly. And so her court hearing for the custody is next week&i was planning on going with my uncle... So my mom talked to her CASE WORKER and he or she said they don't know if we would be allowed in the court room during the trial.. Is that true even though I'm her daughter and my uncle is my moms uncle?? I need advice from like someone who knows about these laws, please??(:

That is up to the judge.

It depends. If it's a closed courtroom, it's only the parties involved. If it's an open courtroom, anybody over 18 may be present.
