If a member of the royal family was arrested?

Postby achban » Tue May 15, 2012 1:17 am

could the Queen (because all prisoners are detained under her pleasure) demand for him/her to be released.....
and as the Queen technically 'is' the law ,is she immune from prosecution ?

She could, but it would be unwise on her part.

Of course the Queen is immune from prosecution. She can literally get away with murder, though she would probably be removed from her position if that happened. Still, she would not be prosecuted, if the crime were committed while she were Queen.

Yes she could, but she wouldn't. She has a government to run the country so would not get involved. She herself is above the law. She doesn't even need a licence to drive should she wish to.

Kind Regards, Dan.

the queen would do anything possible to release her close relative but through the back door. possibly that's what victoria did too with eddie (his eldest son), who had been suggested to be jack the ripper.

She could demand that the relative be released, but she wouldn't have the power to make it happen.

Her relatives are as subject to the law as anyone else. It is a misconception to think otherwise, esecially in this day and age.
