If I let my five year old go out of state with her dad, what would happen if he does not bring her back?

I have full custody of my five year old. Her dad states that he would like to take her from home here (ND) down to Missouri to visit his sick mother for two months. I would love for her to go see that side of her family but am scared that he may try and keep her. Are there any laws that would jump into action if he decides not to bring her back. I am sick to my stomach with worry! I have no daycare for her being as he was her daycare while I work.

If you have full LEGAL custody and he doesn't return her then you call the police as it considered parental kidnapping and they will find and arrest him and return your child.

Does your child know her father? I would hesitate to send my child with someone if their father was no more than a stranger. If you have full legal custody and he does not bring her back, it's kidnapping.

Like L8tr g8tr said, If they go across state lines and he does not return her it is federal kidnapping. He will be arrested and put in jail or prison. All you would need to do is call the local authorities.
