If legalising drugs halved the number of hard drug addicts and lowered drug related crime, why is everyone..?

... else still so far behind?

why is portugal so different to everyone else?

"Now instead of being put into prison, addicts are going to treatment centers and they're learning how to control their drug usage or getting off drugs entirely," report author Glenn Greenwald, a former New York State constitutional litigator, said during a press briefing at Cato last week. "

WE NEED TO LEGALIZE MARIJUANA AND TAX THE SH!T OUT OF IT.

@JOHN
BECAUSE IF ITS LEGALIZED THE PRICE WILL DROP SINCE ITS EASIER TO GET, AND EVERYBODY CAN SELL IT. THEN WE BUMP THE PRICE UP WITH TAXES, BUT NOT TO THE ORIGINAL LEVEL. SO ITS STILL CHEAPER THAN IT WOULD BE NOW.

That is what I've been saying all along. You should treat the addict and severely punish the drug pusher.

Why would anyone want to buy weed that has been "taxed the sh1t out of?"

Sounds expensive...

The War on Drugs has created a cash cow cut from the cloth of the military industrial complex. How much money would be cut from departments such as the DEA, etc if drugs were treated differently? That's why it won't happen for a long time in America.

what logic would indicate that legalizing heroin would make less heroin addicts. Do people become addicts to spite the police or their moms or something like that?
Your interpretation is bizarre. People have been trying to justify the decriminlization of marijuana by making the point that its not addictive. You on the other hand want to legalize hard drugs so that people will stop using them? Thats nuts.

I agree that drug use is a social problem and not a criminal one, However I dont see how the DEA is comparable to Nazis. Explain?
