In The Er, Ten Days Ago, I Was Told I Had A Fractured Ankle & Sprained Ligament. My Specialist Said I Can't Have Both.

He said that when a fracture happens in the ankle, it means the trauma bypassed the ligament. This just doesn't seem right to me. He is an experienced orthopedic surgeon, but I don't trust him. He also took an x-ray with my cast on. I had not taken my x-rays from the ER to the specialist visit because I didn't know it was my responsibility. He refused to take off the cast and x-rayed my ankle with this thick heavy cast on.

Your specialist is FoS. That's a completely insane comment from him/her and indicates an inability to understand the human body.   Schelli 23 months ago

You need another doctor. While the x-ray will scan fine through a cast, he statement about a fracture bypassing the ligament does not sound right, to me.   TurboB 28 months ago
