Is it legal to sell brand named items online?

Postby colfre » Tue Jul 17, 2012 5:05 pm

I want to open up an online store where I sell merchandise that I buy at various locations and will include all sorts of brands. My question is am I allowed to sell brands such as tapout, fubu, etc... whatever brand without getiing in trouble with the law?
I will be buying everything and shipping everything from my home, any other advice for opening up my own store would be really appreciated! Thanks

Yeah. Look at eBay, or Craigslist, or any other website that sells brand named stuff. It's legal.

If you look online you will see that no one sells brand names and gets away with it. No one.

As long as they are authentic branded items from licensed reputable dealers, you can buy and sell as you like if you think you can make a profit. But anyone could buy directly from those same dealers at the same price you do.

You cannot legally buy or sell replicas, knockoffs, lookalikes, etc. Those are counterfeits. Calling a fake a fake doesn't matter. Trafficking in counterfeit merchandise is totally illegal, and since you will be doing it online, you will be easy to find and track down.
