from some stuff i've read if you get into a class action lawsuit you won't make anything...i've contacted a law firm that does class action lawsuits and I believe that's what their going to do in my accutane case..when asked they gave me a percentage lower than 50 percent so how would I not make any money?

Yes, they might get 10 million dollars. Since it's a class action, there are a whole lot of defendants. So if there are 4,000 people involved in the lawsuit, then your six million (divided 4,000 ways) is $1500. The lawyers still get their full 4 million though.

Don't waste your time with class action.
ONLY THE LAWYERS MAKE MONEY ON THAT.
A class action lawsuit is one where the lawyer's group is suing someone because a large group of people were damaged by a drug or whatever.
This means the # of plaintiffs (people suing) is a very high number, sometimes up to 1,000,000 people!!!
This means, say if the the settlement is 10 million, and there are a million people suing, and the lawyer gets 40% (4 million off the top), then the 1 million people suing SPLIT the 6 million that's left!!!! This means every person suing gets.... 6 DOLLARS!!!!!

Who made the money there??? The lawyer. He got 4 million, YOU got 6. DOLLARS. Not 6 million, just 6.

This is why class action lawsuits are so popular now for the lawyers. THEY are the ones who get all the settlement money. NOT YOU, who are suing the company.

You are somewhat confused about the amount of money you could win in "class action lawsuit" --- a class action is a group of lawyers who specialize in a certain industry (usually pharmicuticals) and between the group of lawyers more than a thousand people may claim injuries or require remedial treatment for their injury. The only way you make money is to sue the company directly - and then the attorneys will charge you at least 50% of your settlement.

and its just another reason tort reform is needed
