No, not true.
The value of your claim has nothing to do with how long you treated. Rather the value is based on the injury itself.
Examples:
Case 1- you are involved in an accident. The other person is at fault. As a result of the accident, you suffer 3 fractured ribs (non-displaced). Your medical bills consist of an ambulance ride and a trip to the ER. Plain film x-rays are taken and show the fractures. Your medical bills are around $2500 total. The only thing you can do for fractured ribs - is give them time to heal. So for 8-12 weeks, every time you breath or move you have a lot of pain.
Case 2- you are involved in an accident. The other person is at fault. You claim a soft tissue injury to your back. You incur $15,000 in medical bills. Of the bills, $10,000 is for CT scans, MRI's and plain film x rays that show nothing is wrong with you. You also do a 4 week course of PT.
Even though Case 2 has the higher medical bills and treated longer - Case 1 is the higher value claim.
