Is it weird to ask a guy to be my boyfriend through a poem I wrote?

I wrote a whole sonnet to ask the man I've been dating for the last month to be my boyfriend. I just wanted some opinions on it before I send it. a quick background is that I'm 21 and hes 24. We met through mutual friends. Our first date was a double date to a country line dancing class. We both love action movies and playing pool. We went to the same high school but never met until a month ago. We both are artists and poets, and love to draw and write all sorts of things. He's very shy and that is why I don't think he has asked me yet, so I figured I'd do it. We have gone on 7 dates in the past month so I do think he's pretty serious about me. Here's the poem I wrote about our courtship and to ask him out. Let me know opinions

You can make me smile with simplistic means
Bring a blush to my cheeks with just a kiss,
Tenderness that exceeds my greatest dreams,
Hanging with you brings me a sense of bliss,

Carefree summer days cuddling together,
Adventuring through woodland trails with you,
Massages during the stormy weather,
Open to try things awesome, fun, and new,

You make it easy for me to be me,
Pool sharking, comedies, and action flicks,
Embracing the fact that I do things manly
We're a cool, funky, uniquely weird mix

You are like sunshine on a cloudy day
If I asked you to be mine, what would you say?
