I never seen this one before - is it for real? I know, that there are many other documents in existence written by both non Christian affiliation, Jewish and Roman Historians alike, which reference Christ, back in the first century of the early Christian church. This one is unique (should it be proved valid) and you are going to shut a lot of people's mouths up. Do you realize what you have potentially have done by posting this? Further, there is in existence already, 24,000 documents of antiquity which both, Archaeologists and Historians have verified to prove the credibility of the Bible. What makes these really unique is that there are only 10 documents of antiquity, that are accepted as proof of the existence of some Greek Philosophers, who lived thousands of years ago, by many people. The 24,000 documents DO send quite a message - don't they?

I don't believe the writings to be true. Why would the Congressional Library in Washington D.C., have a document from Judea or Rome.

there has't been any proof of pilate's existance until a stone with his name carved into it was found in caesarea. this letter reeks of forgery, even in its translated form (i assume it's written in latin and not in english, and english one would be a total joke).

can you see pilate "inviting" anyone for a talk? the guy was a cruel butcher, he'd summon someone but not request.

the "novel philosophies" exist in many jewish writings preceding jesus.

the golden hair... so trying to prove the northern european supremacy...

furthermore... seems like whoever wrote this had major sexual fantasies that he put in there.

Wow!! For almost 2,000 years Christians have been searching for the tiniest bit of reliable evidence that Jesus was not a myth, but actually existed. And all this time (well for at most the last few hundred years) it's been in Congressional Library in Washington D.C.

I'm sure that all those Bible scholars will want to verify this, of course.

That is such an obvious forgery that it's almost comical. Pilate was removed by Rome from his position because of his CRUELTY. Romans were known for their cruelty and lack of mercy to those they had conquered. Imagine how cruel someone had to be to have been removed by Rome.

In other words - not a chance that can be taken serious by anyone

what difference does it make? all this speculation pushes you farther from faith. imagine him in your own personal way, and you will become close to him.
