Is the punishment of Hell eternal?

Postby clem84 » Thu Jul 26, 2012 8:48 am

No,

While hell is the consequence of sin, it is only because sin is the means by which one expresses their choice to go to hell. Given that this is a bad choice to make, one could say hell is a punishment. But only so far as it is a consequence for a bad decision.

The threat of hell does not come from God . . .
The threat of hell comes from rejecting good deeds and do vile deeds.

Hell as a consequence of sin rather than the punishment for sin

Just as jail is a consequence for crimes or criminal activties.

God is an observer. Everything that we experience is by our own choosing(Hell or Heaven).

God judges us all(Atheists or Theists), solely based on our deeds(Good or evil), while alive on earth.

Hell is a place of punishment and people are punished because they've done wrong.. In other words, the only reason people go to hell is because they've broken God's law.

according to Revelation hell last forever read.

Revelation 20;10 the devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the best and the false prophet are. and they will be tormented day and night forever.

Revelation 21;8 but the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexual immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have there part in the lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death.

this is eternal . you just don't burn up and it is over. all who read this prepare yourselves. you will be happy you did.

yes god threatens to put the wicked and evil in hell

Revelation 21:8

Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

8 But those who are cowards, those who refuse to believe, those who do terrible things, those who kill, those who sin sexually, those who do evil magic, those who worship idols, and those who tell lies—they will all have a place in the lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

gtfo. nobody chooses to jump in a lake of fire. your sick little god forces them there for not abiding to his dictator-like laws. if god chooses to hide himself from us, he can't punish anyone for not believing in him. that is sick and unjust

Hell doesn't exist. Your question is like asking if a Hogwarts diploma can get you into Harvard.
