NOT AT ALL. Sleeping around and interoffice sexual/ intimate romantic relationships are generally frowned upon, and people aren't sitting around talking sex, drugs, and rock n roll all day (I know they don't really on that show), nor does everyone know about co-worker's business or do they openly talk about business to everyone; generally people are in court, interviewing clients, witnesses, out at meetings, in firm meeting, on the phone, working on cases, things like that.
I used to work in a private practice. As someone that's worked for a few years now, in two career fields, the stuff you see on tv, how people live according to tv, hollywood, the socialite hierarchy and the internet is fantastical and preposterous. People generally don't act like that. Most of the stuff you see could get you fired, and in the case of attorney's and the legal system, potentially disbarred, and cause conflict of interest to cases and clients. The show Fairly Legal is the absolute worst offender, the lead character would have been disbarred for her relationship with an opposing attorney while still trying to act as a mediator on cases. it doesn't bold well for a law firm's rep and business when the main partner is disbarred in disgrace. it's also inappropriate for a boss to have a romantic relationship with an employee, as it shows favoritism and makes it awkward for other employees, people could start quitting because of it. real life isn't TV Funny, the chick quit practicing trial law because she had a conflict of interest in terms of ethics then enters into a relationship and handles cases as what's supposed to be a third party and independent individual and mediator, with her ex-husband and then enters into a relationship with an emplyee. LOL, I love TV.
