Is there a different outcome for employee theft and civilian theft?

Postby denys » Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:01 am

I'm doing an accounting presentation based on Theft in the workplace and was wondering if the criminal charges would be the same or different if an employee got caught committing fraud. (looking at ontario canadian law.)

The employee could also be charged with breach of trust, and possibly malfeasance.
If you mean the employee commits fraud, then the all the charges will be different as they would be charged with fraud and related charges as opposed to theft.
