Theft In Ny

Postby Roderik » Mon Mar 31, 2014 1:13 pm

I've been reading a lot of articles to type of get a concept of how to proceed but I figure publishing may be useful.
I'm 21 and was caught shoplifting in Sears for allegedly $121, completed the forms, got charged everything. Today this was my first, and absolutely last, crime and I've had 1 speeding ticket in my own past which was decreased and that is it. I've never experienced trouble before and was not thinking with my mind, clearly. The material I took was all-on approval and I do not think it actually cost around they pay. In my opinion they wrote down unique prices in the place of present reduced prices, which I recognize from their perspective might seem sensible to obtain the absolute most money out-of me for what used to do, but nevertheless I can not help thinking if that matters at-all. I'd no intent walking in to the shop to grab however in the finish used to do so I do not realize that insufficient initial intent issues. Doubt it. I realize that in either case the total amount was under $500 so possibly it generally does not really make a difference, but I'm simply going by what I've continue reading here, since the only thing I can want to do was google my offense.
I'd prefer to keep this quiet from everyone, except my partner who had been the main one to choose me up afterward, however they insist on delivering info to my permanent address despite me saying repeatedly that I live 10 minutes away from the stop, at university. They kept saying it's to visit the address on my license. Is that correct?
Must I get public defense or go it alone since I can not afford a lawyer, or perhaps discussion from the looks of another article. I can not really afford a lot of an excellent so just how does that work? Is there an occasion period you have to pay by or is there possible I will perform a large amount of community support or something?
I am totally lost, have not slept much and do not know where you can turn. Please support!!!

Long as dollar value doesnt exceed amount to make it felony it doesnt matter at all. Far as Public defender it is never wise to face criminal charges without legal counsel.
