Einstein said: “The development of science and of creative activities of the spirit requires a freedom that consists in the independence of thought from the restrictions of authoritarianism and social prejudice.”

And there is no doubt that Muslim nations lag far behind:

U. S. Nobel SCIENCE prizes in last 50 years? 71. ALL Muslim nations? 3 (out of 1.5 billion people)

U. S. patents held in 2008 (wikipedia)? 2.1 million; ALL Muslim nations? 1,000.

Results of the United Nations sponsored 2002 Arab Human Development Report (arab-hdr.org) include:
-Science and technology output is quantifiable and measurable in terms of number of scientific papers per unit of population. The average output of the Arab world per million inhabitants is roughly 2 per cent of that of an industrialized country
-Number of research scientists: US 466,211; Saudi Arabia 1,915
-Investment in research and development does not exceed 0.5 per cent of gross national product, well below the world average
-The Arab region has the lowest level of access to ICT (Information and Communication Technology) of all regions of the world, even lower than sub-Saharan Africa

Yes. There is nothing racist or anti-Muslim about this.

Regardless of what dogma a given religion attempts to maintain, science has flourished and grown.

For the record scientific advancement has continued in muslim nations as well.

When the entirety of the Western World was living in the mud of the Middle Ages, Islamic Asia was in a golden age of culture, scientific study, and religious tolerance.

But those kingdoms were conquered by the more militant and the Caliphate died, sending the entire religious community into a civil war that has yet to end.

While witches burned at Christan stakes, Islamic scholars were translating the works of Aristotle.

Well, it doesn't help that they want to live in the 1400s and pray to an invisible sky man.

You know what is crazy. All Mohammed had to do was add one line to the Koran and they would lead in science:

And you must pursue the study of the fundamental nature of things.

And there would be a science school in every mosque for the last 1000 years, but then, they wouldn't have been able to control their minds

You're obviously excluding Iran from the list of Muslim countries. In the case of Arabs what you say is true. However, Iranians register about 4500 inventions each year.

I'm just giving you bits and pieces of information here but you can look else where:

By 2012, Iran ranked 10th in nanotechnologies.
Iran ranks 2nd in world in transplantation of stem cells.
12 countries in the world produce bio-tech drugs, which Iran is one of them
At 2012, Iran produces 15 types of monoclonal/anti-body drugs. These anti-cancer drugs are now produced by only two to three western companies.
Iran is the 7th country in production of uranium hexafluoride (or "UF6"). Iran now controls the entire cycle for producing nuclear fuel. Iran is among the 14 countries in possession of nuclear [energy] technology.
designed and built a nuclear fusion device, named IR-IECF. Iran is the 6th country with such technology.
Iran also built a humanoid named Sorena 2.
Iran built a supercomputer in 2007.
Iran is the 9th country to put a domestically-built satellite into orbit.
Iran is one of the few countries capable of producing 20-25 tones sea patrol aircrafts.
Iran is amon

Iran is among the four world countries that are capable of manufacturing advanced V94.2 gas turbines.Iran is able to produce all the parts needed for its gas refineries and is now the third country in the world to have developed Gas to liquids (GTL) technology.
Iran possesses the technology to launch superfast anti-submarine rockets which can travel at the speed of 100 meters per second under water, making the country second only to Russia in possessing the technology.
Iran is among the 12 countries with missile technology

"Iran's growth rate in science and technology is 11 times more than the average growth of the world's output in 2009 and in terms of total output per year, Iran has already surpassed the total scientific output of countries like Sweden, Switzerland, Israel, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Austria or that of Norway. Iran with a science and technology yearly growth rate of 25% is doubling its total output every three years and at this rate will reach the level of Canadian annual output in 2017"

With over 400 medical research facilities and 76 medical magazine indexes available in the country, Iran is the 19th country in medical research and is set to become the 10th within 10 years (2012).
