Is transunionmonitoring.com a trusted site or someone trying to steal identity or personal information?

I'm trying to find out if a letter I got in the mail telling me to go to www.transunionmonitoring.com and giving me a "free code" is something I should trust or if it's a site for identity theft or stealing personal information. It lists a class action law suit from 4 years ago as the reason for the notice being sent out. My first instinct is not to trust it but if it is a real, reputable site it would be nice to have free credit info.

I get red flags from Web of Trust; don't go there.
Go to the official "TransUnion" Credit monitoring agency and look around for this 'settlement' info before any procedures.

Crooks will use any tactic to pry out your info, so trust no one: use every resource you can to establish the authenticity of claims made by an unknown party before proceeding.
