Is workers' compensation programs are effective methods to handle the substantial cost of workplace injuries?

Watchdog you are waaaaaayyyyyyy off base. States are so employee friendly it is not even funny. Not only is it effective it is the law. If you have a safety department you should be able to track and trend workplace injuries and use that information to help prevent them in the future. Obviously there are going to be the accidents that you can't prevent but I would say 80% of work place injuries can be avoided and I am shooting low at that number. I have seen a lot that if the injured employee is aware of their surroundings the injury probably never happens.

Not only does the employee get paid, granted it is only 66% of their wage, they do not have to pay taxes on that money at the end of the year. Also the more serious injuries are usually compensated with a settlement so it pays to get injured.

And another thing I have seen so many injuries that are either faked or that did not happen at work and the employer usually loses in court. It is insurance fraud and I have been very happy at catching these people and let me tell you that karma is what they say it is.

NO, all workers comp laws are written to benefit the employer and deprive the injured worker of fair and just compensation.}{
