What you did really made no sense, given that you'd burn more gas going faster, rather than slower. But you have no choice but to tell the court what you wrote here, and hope for some leniency. Otherwise, just accept the loss of your license and any fines that you may incur, and learn a lesson from your experience.

Good luck!

Unfortunately regardless of whether your a good kid you know rules are rules and regardless of the reason you will get fined for it, all you can do is tell the truth right? They will respect you for that and you may just get lucky but I think you're just gonna have to face what they give you. There isn't anything you can do

Not what you should, rather what will you do. Answer: Pay a $500 fine and take the bus or walk. Your license will be suspended. From the NY DMV website.

Penalties for Traffic Violations as a Junior Driver

Your junior permit, license, or privileges will be suspended for 60 days if you are convicted of one serious traffic violation or two other violations that were committed while you held a junior permit or license. You might have been able to beat the curfew due to extenuating circumstances but there is absolutely no excuse for for 27 over.

A "serious traffic violation" is normally a violation that carries three or more driver violation points. 27 over is 6 points.

David, Thanks a lot! I really needed something like this to get me laughing! Heck, I've got tears in my eyes from laughing so hard!

Bottom line: Get ready to walk! Your entire list of excuses is amusing ... but no where near good enough to cover the charges against you! What? Did you read a book "Fifty really dumb excuses for speeding" and picked the ones labeled "extremely dumb"?

Loss of license, big A$$ fines, insurance consequences.

You should just pay the ticket. Ignoring it or fighting it is not worthwhile.
