Legal Advice Possible malpractice?

Postby starling » Sun Dec 18, 2011 1:01 am

My Wife that I was separated from for 3 years just passed this weekend due to oral surgery complications. I had to have the plug pulled after a month of being in a medicated induced coma due to seizures. She had OSA apnea and the dentist put her under with twilight sedation. She crashed and he revived her and incubated her then restarted the IV sedation and operation. She crashed again and was transported to the hospital. The tube where he incubated her went in her stomach instead her lungs and possibly ODed her on the sedative because her gave her something to reverse the effects of the sedative. I have a lawyer but its just been a few days and they just finished the autopsy, but it has to go to a board investigation before they issue a death certificate. The bad thing about this is she is only 29, her birthday is the 20th of this month and theres a 5 yr old daughter between us. I dont want anything but for our daughter to be set and have anything she needs and wants. Any advice.

I'm sorry for your loss. You should wait for the board results. Just because he gave her something to reverse the effects does not mean she OD. I am guessing you mean intubated and not incubated? He should have confirmed placement of the ET tube as a tube in the stomach can lead to possible vomiting and her not breathing.
