Legal aid for a divorce?

It would depend on the amount you get in benefits as to whether you were eligible for Legal Aid. You may be on benefits but if the amount you get is high you can;t get Legal Aid. You would therefore have to pay on a private basis. You could prepare the divorce papers yourself then take them to Court but you would have to pay the Court issue fee which is about £300 given you are eligble for Legal Aid.

You would then get correspondence from the Court telling you each stage of the divorce. If it is not contested and it is straight forward then you wouldnt have to go Court but if there is involvement with financial issues as well you do.

In court if there is no property to divide then you dont even have to appear, it is just paper work. If you have been apart for 2 years it is even more straight forward.

You should seek a lawyer of your country to file a good and reasonable petition for divorce which leads to the hearings of judge's.. Lawyer who have experience can help you out in dealing this case in a better way..

A good attorney will be very helpful in this case. A lawyer who holds a good experience and have a good reputation in the market will be the best to take help from.
