Liberals: Gun control is tougher, so why are there more gun crimes?

Actually according to 2010 FBI statistics single-victim gun killings have dropped more than 40 percent since 1980. And mass killings are only slightly higher. One-on-one violence also usually involves a small-caliber handgun while mass killers often opt for an automatic or semi-automatic weapons to kill as many as possible. But by far the mass killings get far more media coverage and exposure.
And since Obama has taken office there have been no new gun control measure put into place. In fact several older regulations were dropped (i.e. taking guns into national parks).
I would much rather you had provided evidence that gun laws have gotten stricter.

No, it wouldn't have helped in Colorado if everyone in the theater was armed. The room was not only dark but fogged by the smoke of the tear gas bombs the killer set off. That means that even if only a couple of people started shooting towards the shooter(which they would have had to have infrared glasses to do and wouldn't have shown the tiny area on his forehead that was the only place hitting him would do any good), the rest of them would not have known for sure which one was the original shooter and would either not fire at all or kill a couple of ordinary citizens.
