Little Incident - Am I Going To Be Charged With Strike-and-operate

Postby Buach » Sun Jun 01, 2014 11:06 am

Our issue entails a traffic incident within the State-Of: California.
Hello guys!
Earlier today I had been nearing an intersection heading 15MPH, i accidentally slipped a liquid on my panel and so I got eyes off the street to get a fast minute. Our vehicle rearended a stopped vehicle in a redlight heading 10MPH.
The target instantly exhibited her risks and attempted to obtain from the vehicle in the centre of the intersection with traffic being held-back, i waived her right down to pull-over down forward, she didnt hear, and so I exhibited my risks and went handed the intersection and stopped aside of the road.
The woman observeis me draw forward and begins honking and draws up alongside me preventing my method and leaps from the vehicle screaming (she's about 50yrs old), shouting at me "omg you associated with run!, it was popular and run!". I informed her "woman, quit it. Did you notice me ATTEMPT flee?" blah blah
She operates to the nearest home nearby screaming stating "hello contact law enforcement, this person simply struck and attempted to operate". Therefore neighbor calls the police...
Prior to the policeman comes, I'd previously traded insurance info (my insurance card ended yesterday however it had the present plan quantity) and motorists information.
Policeman discusses the damage and claims "appears minimum harm, not really a-dent, only a smeere, you are able to clean that off"...
He creates me a solution for "evidence of monetary obligation" and offered her a study #. This whole-time the woman was shouting "he attempted to operate from me!".
The policeman informs me this is just a "repair it" offense solution since my insurance has terminated, then when you come in courtroom, display the judge evidence of your present insurance"
Must I get worried? The policeman explained "call-back the authorities stop in per week to determine when the authorities statement is prepared after which you men are designed for it using the insurance or arrange for the money to obtain her vehicle fixed.
Used to do not notice something within the ciatation having said that "hit-and-run", under parts broken was "VC 16028(d) evidence of insurance @ incident" and he noted "correctable"...
Therefore my issue for you men could be "Im just worried about the strike-and-work incident. How do you understand basically was billed?"
Thanks Guys!

Small Accident - Will I Be Charged With Hit-and-run

If there is probable cause to believe you committed the crime of hit-and-run, you can be charged. But if you listen to the officer instead of fretting endlessly, you'll come to appreciate that its not likely to happen at this point. (Take a deep breath. Relax.)

Small Accident - Will I Be Charged With Hit-and-run

I simply talked to some arbitrary officer in the police stop and he explained when it isn't mentioned about the real ciatation you then haven't been billed. You'll just look infront of the judge for that solution you've. Law enforcement statement was probably for that incident as well as for insurance purposes.
What im worried about is the fact that, imagine if law enforcement statement pops up and claims I did so popular-and-run. May I be charged on the basis of the authorities statement?
