Living through Security Deposit ?

My current rental lease expires at the end of November and I'm currently in the process of purchasing a home and should closed on or about November 2.

Can I living on my security deposit instead of paying rent ? I live in New York City in case there are different laws per state.

Most leases expressly prohibt using the security deposit as rent. Can they evict you and sue you? Absolutely. Even though you have already vacated you could have a lawsuit and judgement on your credit. It isn't worth it.

It is not customary to reduce daily amounts by using a security deposit. If your landlord likes you that may be ok - but its not usually done.
Explain to your landlord you expected day/date of vacation and perhaps you can work something out.
