Postby Burnette » Wed Apr 30, 2014 4:13 pm

Hi
I'm 25 yrs old and presently dealing with a international company. I presently maintain an Indian Passport. My sweetheart is in US and operating there. He's a green card (LPR). We're likely to get married this December.
Easily make an application for a greencard centered on our relationship, please allow me to know the waiting-time?
Additionally, I've a B1 visa for might work conferences. I am aware this can be a temporary credit having a length of six months just and that I wont have the ability to focus on it. I nevertheless may visit him.
I do want to stick with him instead of simply visit him. Please suggest whats the best way to move ahead?
Additionally, I'll get Portuguese nationality from the end-of this season as my father simply turned a colonial resident. I've an option to occupy the citizenship or remain Indian. I'm in a repair. If it will help me visit my sweetheart quicker, I would really do that.
Could you please assist me with this?
I'm desperate.

I'm interested to understand, incase you've info, just how long does it take to get a person with natural card to use for naturalization and when he applies next delay and reporting interval in US, does he get citizenship immediately or it requires lots of time next also?
My fiance has-been there because a year today. And so I imagine another 4 years basically am not wrong right? After which he cn make an application for citizenship. Whats the time of delay next?
Thanks

Country of birth ( not naturalized citizenship) determines wait times.

A B1 visa entry is for work of specific types. B2 visa entry is for visiting.
Once you marry, you will be required to reply properly to any immigration form or officials questions regarding your relationship to your husband. It is possible that your application for entry at the border will be denied as it should be since you have admitted on a public forum that it is not your intent to "visit" but to "stay" - i.e. live in violation with the terms of your admission if on B2.

If you do not want a long distance marriage, he will need to arrange to live with you in a country where you both may live. Alternatively, postpone your marriage until he obtains his citizenship and can sponsor you as an immediate relative. He can give up his US green card and move to India to be with you permanently which he would gladly do and you would welcome if the relationship were more important than the green card.

There are no shortcuts to US permanent residency. If there were, there are far more people with more compelling stories than yours.
You are not even married and want to get to the front of the line when many tens of thousands of people have been separated from their family for many years already. They are waiting patiently and not trying to scam the system by obtaining citizenship in a third country that they have no intent of using.

You're apparently looking at a couple of years at the very least; it might actually be easier (if he's eligible) for your boyfriend to naturalize and then sponsor you as his spouse.
