May I document i130 & I-485 while Political Asylum Pending

Hi Immigration Gurus,
I'm getting US resident this week.
Our mother & my buddy (minor) are listed here is US with pending asylum situation in the judge of appeals.
1) May I apply for i130 & i140 together?
2) Lawyer recommends document i130 of course if authorized subsequently may document I-485 in the immigration courtroom? How can that function? I considered for parents may document i130 & i485 together?
Any support is valued. Your lawyer isn't very useful or receptive. And also the degree the situation reaches it'd be too costly for all of US to alter lawyers.
Studying every info I will on the internet and obtain proper path.

Question 1 - did you mean to reference an I-485?
