My question concerns a loved one with AVN.  He has had two hip surgeries and the latest hip replacement part is the problem.  His surgery was almost 2 years ago.  He is now suffering from constant pain in the joint as well as a loud squeaking noise from the joint while doing simple tasks like walking up stairs or picking up a gallon of milk.  The stress this has added to his body is also causing back problems.  He now has two herniated disks.  He'd like to file a product liability suit here in Michigan and is wondering about things like statute of limitations and award limits but his big question is regarding recent law.  He's been told by two lawyers that if the replacement part is FDA approved, he cannot sue.  What is your suggestion?
