It's the governments job to stop illegal immigration. They take almost 40% of our paycheck to "pay for it". Now they are trying to pass the buck on tax paying companies.

It must suck being a sheep.

Mitt Romney is dead wrong on this issue.

Cut my taxes to 5%, and I will check everyone I hire to see if they are an illegal. Otherwise, do your job and keep them out of the country.

It already is illegal... but illegal immigrants usually just present fake identification. It's not the employers fault, and strain shouldn't be put on him to background check every single employee he hires...
So I don't support it. It's superfluous and hurts business owners, while also placing too much responsibility on them to enforce the law and report illegals. The illegal immigrant should be taking the burden, not Americans.

I support the idea. In my opinion, those who hire illegals are criminals the same as the illegals themselves.

There has been a law like that for YEARS, the issue is when it is not enforced it is meaningless. Would I support enforcement of a law like that? YES I would but unlike the left I would advocate NOT only prosecuting the employer but ALSO arresting the illegal(s) and deporting them (or if their second or third or fourth time caught, imprisoning them - kind of like Mexico does to illegals)

We already have laws like that on the books. They don't get enforced.
