Mothers work Inc Settlement...?

Postby tai38 » Sun Apr 10, 2011 8:34 pm

I received a mail notifying of this class action suit and a store credit for $25 .Has anyone else received such a similar notice ?I hope its not spam or hoax notice...

//There is currently pending in the California Superior Court for the County of San Diego an action entitled Kellee Lewis and Rachel Lederman v. Mothers Work, Inc., Case No. 37-2007-0081536-CU-BT-CTL. The lawsuit alleges that Mothers Work, Inc. violated California law by requesting and recording the telephone number and/or address from customers who paid for purchases with a third-party credit card at its stores in California. Mothers Work, Inc. denies any wrongdoing and denies that any class member has been injured or suffered damages. To avoid the expense and inconvenience of further litigation, the Parties have reached a Settlement.//

I wouldn't use it- sounds like a scam to me! They give you a $25 "credit", and you give them your credit card number for the merchandise.

I wouldn't use it if I were you.

My sister got this same card in the mail today. Is it a scam? I can see how it would be, good call. But anyone should know not to give their credit card number out to anyone.

It's not a scam... Mothers Work is based in Philadelphia and has 807 stores trading under the names Motherhood Maternity, Mimi Maternity, A Pea in the Pod, and Destination Maternity.

Not a scam. The notice claims that you ALREADY used your credit card, and that they in turn distributed your personal info to unauthorized 3rd parties. To confirm, see case detail at SD Superior Court: http://courtindex.sdcourt.ca.gov/CISPublic/casedetail?casenum=200700081536&casesite=SD&applcode=C

Kirby ... Carissa M .... why so ignorant. Please stop telling people that things are scams before you research? This type of "advice" is what gets people in trouble ... or better yet sued.

Please just dont answer if you dont know what the answer is ...

Its not a scam. You do not have to give your info..just go to the store after feb 13, 2009. and take the card you recieved in the mail in. You already have a $25 store credit. I recieved the same card. No need to give them any info whatsoever. Just the pink card.
