Should Someone Be Excused For Misogynist Remarks Because He Claims To Be A Comedian?

Yeah, I'm sorry he came into it. It's far better to have the discussion on its personal merits. I agree with you.   @Goldie 21 months ago

For DM: The difference isn't that Maher is liberal and Limbaugh is .conservative. I never take into account Limbaugh a valid representative of conservatism, due to the fact the man is patently dishonest and in addition, a fool!   stanleybmanly 21 months ago

It all depends on how bad it is, but in common, no. I know some intense left and appropriate wingers would say that is censorship though. Often the correct and left are apart of the identical coin, they just cannot see it, due to the path they are searching.   MADJ_Woodcock 21 months ago

"There's nothing truly funny in Maher's program...unless your politics agree with his. You laugh because he's making fun of the opposition. Holding them up to ridicule."____________________________________________obviously you haven't watched the program or you wouldn't, couldn't come with that.   Max20characters 21 months ago

Of course not. There will be some i here who will say it is OK because Maher is a liberal comedian or entertainer then turn around and lambast Limbaugh, who is also an entertainer, for saying less misogynistic things. The difference, of course, is that Limbaugh is a Conservative and Maher is a liberal. They will apply their double standard to this situation just as they do to others. It is entertaining to watch them fall all over themselves trying to justify the unjustifiable positions they take. Entertaining but predictable.   Directmale 21 months ago

He typically has more than one republican as a guest. Sometimes it gets so feisty I find it hard to hear over the arguments. He invites EVERYBODY. He has very short standup routine to start and it typically refers to the week in politics. This is followed by visit from someone usually in politics and often a Republican.I don't always like what he says. And he has no problem trashing Democrats or Republicans so you seem to be getting your info from others.   Max20characters 21 months ago

Nor should Limbaugh be excused for his filthy mouth. Nor anyone else, male or female. And whatever happened to people getting up and walking out of the audience when trash talk starts? What about calling the TV stations, the radio stations, the sponsors? But don't do it only if it's someone of your political leaning who's been trashed - that makes us a party to the trashing. This is a human decency issue, not a political issue.   charlie95 21 months ago

Bill Maher's show is not a comedy show. He has a panel of politicians and political people who talk politics throughout the whole show. He falls back on that "comedy show" excuse so he can say what he wants. What Maher says against Conservative women is just as bad as what Rush said about "that women". He apolized, Maher refuses.I could go on and on with your question but I am smart enough to keep my mouth shut on this one. There will be plenty of Maher defenders on this site.(But boy oh boy there would have been hell to pay if Bill Maher called Hillary or michelle the "C" word.   LouLou 21 months ago

I probably shouldn't even comment, as I don't listen or watch either of them. I don't find Maher funny, and I don't find Limbaugh entertaining. The great thing is that my tv has this cool feature that allows for different channels.   @Goldie 21 months ago
