He discovered the Dr. had put the wrong size replacement in. Would this be considered medical malpractice and who would be the best attorney in the Southeastern WI Northern IL area?

Try another orthopedic doctor and ask this doctor. Sounds like he is having more symptoms-- a problem in his knee. You have to know what that is. Doubt seriously if he has the "wrong size." He just sounds like he needs a lot more medical care because of his disease progression.

He could also have an infection, even after this long period. If there is an infection, then the doctor will want to take out the old prosthesis(the knee), and replace it with a spacer. Then lots of IV antibiotics. This can go on for a very long time.
