Need info on a driving Law in Michigan *(5 STARS)*?

Postby norwyn » Wed Oct 26, 2011 3:20 am

Okay so Michigan came up with this law saying something along the lines of if you are 21 and under you can not have more than 1 person who is not a family member in the car.
I need details on this law so I hope someone know what law I'm talking about, it was passed this year.
If you do know it please explain in detail everything about the law & also PLEASE LEAVE THE LINK of where you got the information, that would be so hopeful to me!
I really really need to know every last detail to the law and your help would be greatly appreciated

(& for those of you who are thinking why don't I just look it up, well I did and I couldn't find it, it I had I wouldn't be asking you today)

THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S HELP!!!
I will award the best answer to whoever has the most in dept answer & preferably with a link also! :)

Teens with a level 2 graduated license cannot carry more than *one* other passenger that is under 21. There are exceptions for family members and school/school-sanctioned events. The law has been in effect since March 30th.

If you are caught in violation of the statute, you can have your provisional period prolonged, you'll get 2 points on your record, they *may* re-evaluate your driving capabilities and even suspend the license. . .not to mention the actual ticket.

The 1st link has *all* of the requirements.
The 2nd link explains the degrees of licensing.

Drivers with the intermediate licenses won't be allowed to have more than one unrelated passenger under age 21 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian or they are driving to and from school events. The law also prohibits the new teen drivers from getting behind the wheel between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless they are driving to and from work. The previous law allowed them to drive until midnight.

It's 18, not 21.
