Nerve Damage After Bladder Lift And Hysterectomy

I am 7 weeks post op from my first surgery, due to severe pain and no relief from pain meds a 2nd surgery was performed day before Christmas eve. The urologist advised that he needed to go in and release a stitch. Since the 2nd surgery I sensory nerve damage on the right thigh and right side of vagina. This damage is really awful and I find terrible discomfort when going to bathroom or taking a shower, to touch this area not only makes me cringe it also nearly makes me vomit. I am scared that I will eventually loose my marriage as I can not bear to touch myself let alone have my husband touch me or have intercourse. I am still not able to walk properly and have alot of discomfort walking. I am considering speaking to a malpractice lawyer as the urologist who performed the surgery I feel knows he messed up and that is why he did the 2nd surgery, he did not advise of any nerve damage risks. Do you think this could be a case for malpractice ?

It certainly could be negligence on the part of the surgeon and I would urge you to speak to an attorney.  You are more likely to enlist a malpractice attorney to litigate the case if you have a permanent injury, however, it is important to seek legal guidance now to preserve the records.

I certainly hope you have a full recovery but I still highly recommend seeing an attorney.
