Ontario - Trespass To Property Act

Hello there, I was fined under the Trespass to Property Act for inappropriate behaviour in a mall in Toronto. I was with friends at the time. I have since been banned from the mall for a year and I pleaded guilty to the fine and I paid it. Would one have a criminal record because of this offence?

Hi TG, thanks for writing!

If the Trespass to Property Act in Ontario is anything like the Trespass to Premises Act in Alberta, which I believe it is, then it is only a provincial offence similar to a speeding ticket. There is a record of it, but it's not a criminal offence, so it wouldn't show up on a criminal record's check.
