Paternity, Birth Certificate And Kid's Lastname In Louisiana

Postby Tucker » Wed Apr 30, 2014 9:13 am

Hello. I'm having my child in December, and reside in Louisiana.
Iam unsure when the dad will have the ability to be there for that delivery, or when the infant may have his lastname at first.
What're the regulations in Louisiana and just how might I start finding him to signal the delivery certificate and altering the final title to his?? I read someplace that people might have to move someplace to create there cahnges and he wouldnt need to follow. Is this appropriate? I'd hate for him to possess to look at their own child.
Any info could be appreciated.
Cheers

Cheers guys
he ought to be there for that delivery, but-its an elaborate situation.
he really wants to wait to sign and provide his last title. I'm simply attempting to work out how much difficulty that might be, I can not view needing to perform a genetics make sure material simply to change it out afterwards on.
if he confirms he may be the dad when hes prepared to signal, is just a check or courtroom required?

If he wishes, you and he can sign an acknowledgment of paternity at the hospital when the baby is born.

OPsaid that bf wouldn't be there for the birth.

Paternity, Birth Certificate And Child's Last Name In Louisiana

Thanks, but i still dont understand, he knows he is the father, when he is ready to sign the BC and give his last name, why does it have to be deteremined?

Can he just go and say he is the father and he needs to sign?

Paternity, Birth Certificate And Child's Last Name In Louisiana

Postby Sorley » Wed May 07, 2014 3:27 am

let me be more specific so i can possibly get more help.

he is currently married. not yet filed for divorce.

but will have and will be seperated by time i give birth.

his wife does not know, and he's trying to keep it that way.

he just wants to make sure he is in the clear before his name is on the BC and given to the child.

i personally would rather just have him to it at the birth, but agreed to do what was best for his situation.

help?!

Hi. I am having my baby in November, and live in Louisiana.

I'm not sure if the father will be able to be there for the birth, or if the baby will have his last name at first.

What are the laws in Louisiana and how would I go about getting him to sign the birth certificate and changing the last name to his?? I read somewhere that we would just have to go somewhere to make there cahnges and he wouldnt have to adopt. Is this correct? I would hate for him to have to adopt his own child.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can name the child what ever you want...You could name your baby George W. Bush Jr. if you wanted... ...Your bf can file for paternity and be added to the BC when he is determined to be the legal father.
