Pennsylvania Drivers License, Now Live In Fla Where I Have Recieved Two Traffic Citations With My Name Spelled Wrong??

Postby Selyv » Sun Jan 12, 2014 1:50 pm

I have a Pennsylvania Drivers license and now live in florida exactly where I have recieved two targeted traffic citations, each citations have my name spelled incorrect. I went to the courthouse to take care of the tickets and they issued the citations beneath the incorrect spelled name with a new florida drivers license. Can these tickets catch up with me? When I go for a new florida drivers license will these citations show up?

Florida state law doesn't allow a citation to be dismissed solely based upon a "clerical error." Florida state law doesn't allow a citation to be dismissed solely based upon a "clerical error." name change has to by corrected with ss i couldnt find anything on this issue other than the fact that you have to correct you name with the social security office, the name on the ss card for the ss number has to match the name for the id or license.florida is a no fault state, if you have an accident ,you hit a car each pays their own.. ohio i have heard will suapend your license across the country.. if you were able to get a license in florida with unpaid tickets in pa then you got lucky.. but i would say that if you went to pa and got pulled over even with that fla license, you would get in some trouble and possibly arrested, my suggestion is pay the fines make arrangements... You need to go to the Florida DMV and request information about the liscense and get all of the information. Then take that back to the court house. In Ohio they do not hold tickets against you when obtaining your license. I know that from recieving a red light ticket(a ticket camera) and owed it but had no restrictions on my license or obtaining it. The red light tickets do however go toward your credit rating. Some tickets if left unpaid can lead to a bench warrant where you can be placed in jail and released once bail has been paid and there may be possible court dates. Costing double the original price of the ticket. My advice is the first thing to do is go to the DMV and figure that out. Then to the courthouse. Best of luck!
