Politics: Why don't liberals realize we could win the war on drugs if we just spent more money on it?

Some liberal posted an answer on here claiming the war on drugs has failed to reduce the usage of Marijuana at all and that it has been "a complete failure". He went on to say that US rates of Marijuana use are about the same as countries that have decriminalized Marijuana.

The problem is that liberals are always cutting spending on the war on drugs and passing laws that make possession of pot less than a felony like it ought to be. If we just sent pot smokers to jail for longer periods of time and arrested more of them then they would all stop smoking pot. We'd also need to get rid of medical Marijuana clinics as well.

We need instruct police to spend more time arresting potheads, and send potheads to jail for much longer than we currently do. The war on drugs would have been won by now if liberals hadn't preventing it from working.

As a Conservative, I'm for small government & limited spending.

That's why we need Government to start a war on drugs, give 25-year sentences to someone smoking a joint, start wars in the Middle East, enforce the Patriot Act, tell gays who they can & can't marry, and get between a woman and her doctor.

so you think putting potheads in prison to serve longer sentences would be a victory for "the war on drugs"? that's the least of this country's problems. don't you get it, the war on drugs wasn't designed to win. the biggest deadliest problems are prescription pills- they kill more people than all illegal drugs combined
