Most law schools prefer that they be the ones that teach you the law. Thus they prefer you not major in criminal justice.
Newark offers a specific "pre-law" major? I don't think they do. The full list of majors is here:

And most unis don't offer a specific "pre-law" major. Pre law isn't normally a major. It's a system of advisement. So you can major in something else, and still be pre law.
Law schools want you to major in something academic, and something that you like. Ideally, it'd be something that gives you a good foundation for law school and being a lawyer - so something that improves how you read, write, analyze... something like English, philosophy (even if you don't major in philo, think about taking some logic classes), history - but you really can major in anything you'd like. Just avoid things like criminal justice. If you like CJ, consider majoring in sociology instead. CJ is actually a sub-discipline of sociology, and sociology would be fine re: law school.
