Could anyone inform my about colleges in South Orange, NJ? I'd favor to understand anything about higher, middle and principal schools. If some of you reside for the purpose that location I'd appreciate your tips onto it as Iam transferring from one more country.

To be totally honest, I can't say many nice things about the South Orange schools. To be 100% brutally honest, I have nothing nice to say about South Orange, or the schools there.South Orange is right by(bordering) Newark, and Newark is honestly a very "crummy" area. The best thing you can do is to work there but move at least 15 minutes out and commute a bit further. You will thank yourself in the long run. The Montcalir/Nutley/Clifton area right nearby is so much better.Basically, South Orange is more "inner-city" type as opposed to the suburbs. Take from that what you will, but one of the results are a schools system that doesn't rank as well as neighboring districts on test scores, and is under-funded.Avoid it if you can!Hope this helps!!! Scrat, regarding your answer "South Orange?":Could you tell me why? Are you judging from your own experience? We do not "have to" live there but found a nice house, we are looking at other options though. I would really appreciate an answer..Birgitta

If you don't find the information needed on the school district website, you can try alking to a local real estate agent. They do a lot of research in the area they sell houses in, and that includes schools. They will probably know a lot of information.

South Orange? Do you want? to live there, or do you have to. If you have to, better find a private school you can afford, otherwise, pick a better town to live in.
