Lack of term limits have allowed old haggard useless minds to remain entrenched for life in govt....pensions rape the tax payers, and life long retirement for congress--rape us all--while we work our assses off to support thousands of people who sponge off tax payers--don't make anything or give ANYTHING BACK!

Govt is a bottomless Pit of people who bleed americans dry...who are inept, old, and outlived any usefulness they ever had...like Pelois--who at 79 needs to be put out to pasture for good..not elected as min. leader--God--isn't there anyone but this facelift queeen?

America has been a battleground of ideas from day one..even the founders were split on many issues so I don't see the on-going tug of war as a failure. As someone mentioned here though, the Federal Government has it's nose way too deep in our business! Then there's the FED playing god with their 'magic money'?.... Another thing (and this I do blame on the left) the 'melting pot' is broken. We're becoming many cultures within One Nation.. look at history, that's always a bad sign.... Your qn deserves more of an answer but that's all I got for now.. have a good weekend.

Excellent post, I couldn't agree more.
Special interests have taken over both parties and corrupted them beyond all measure. The fact that so many let blind partisanship keep them from acknowledging the role of those they support in this epic failure of democracy makes it all the more troubling. Instead of always looking for a way to pass the buck so to speak and blame the other guy, it is long overdue for a deep introspection regarding who and what we support. Until we can all acknowledge the faults and failings of not only those we oppose but those we support as well, our once great nation will continue it's downward spiral.

The Federal Government has forgotten it's role. The purpose of the Federal Government is to secure the rights of the people. The US Constitution provides the three branches of Government all the authority needed to fulfill that role. The Federal Government more and more is ignoring the limits set by the US Constitution and has expanded its role to the point where it has become destructive to the rights of the people and the states. Whenever any government does that it is both the right and the duty of the people to alter or abolish it and institute new government.

The Republican Party shills for Big Business and doesn't want the progressive reforms the Dems are trying to bring to benefit the Middle Class.
